The Association is a Kansas-based 501(c)3 whose mission is to ensure successful and sustainable memorial stair climbs through:
  • sanctioning of honorable memorial events that pay tribute to the sacrifices of fallen heroes,
  • comprehensive administrative support,
  • the sharing, development and implementation of best practices and guidelines.
  • an event’s ability to retain local control, eliminating interference from unnecessary outside or political influences.

Recognizing the need to provide comprehensive support for these events, several climb coordinators have joined together to create the Association of Memorial Stair Climbs.

The Association ensures the success and sustainability of our climbs by providing events with comprehensive administrative support and identification and implementation of best practices in both event planning and operations; eliminating unnecessary outside or political influences and allowing events to maintain local control .

Association climbs are NOT extreme sporting events or fundraising campaigns; instead they are honorable events that pay tribute to the sacrifices of fallen heroes.

The Association of Memorial Stair Climbs is registered  as a not-for-profit corporation with the Kansas Secretary of State and has been granted 501(c)3 status.

Association events are “Sanctioned.”   Other climbs may become “Recognized”  by the Association should they meet identified best practices.
