What is there to do?
How long does it last? The opening ceremony will start at approx. 8:30am and last 20 mins along with the bagpipers leading climbers into the stairways. |
PARTICIPANT Questions
How many climbers do you allow to participate?
We only allow 343 climbers to participate. Each participant must be employed by a fire department. You may be a volunteer, paid career, or retired firefighter to participate. How old do I have to be? You must be 18 years old to participate. If you are a cadet you may request to volunteer at the event. Can I substitute for another climber? We do not allow substitutions. The spot will be filled from the wait list first. All sign ups are a non-refundable donation to the Chattanooga 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. How do I know when I get to climb? We get frequent request to switch times so we request that you commit to your time given for the day of the climb. TAKE THE DAY TO REMEMBER YOUR FALLEN BROTHERS. We understand this is hard to plan for families to coordinate with kids. Will there be food? We will have various types of food at the event for our participants. Is this a timed race? No, This is a memorial event to honor the 343 firefighters killed on 9-11-2001. We ask that you work as a team to complete the event. |
